About Erik Rostad

Erik Rostad received his first violin at the age of 3. He studied privately for 11 years, being trained classically with the Suzuki method. Since that time (26 years), Erik has played in churches, concert halls, bars, latin dance clubs, and country clubs. He has shared the stage with Zac Brown, and has recorded for a wide variety of artists including Grammy nominated artist, India.Arie.

Weddings

Erik has played the violin in weddings since he was 5 years old. He keeps a regular schedule of weddings throughout the year. Mixing classical pieces with famous hymns and wedding songs, Erik is also known to play contemporary music from bands such as Coldplay and Pink Floyd.

Studio Recordings

Erik has recorded violin for some of the most talented artists in Atlanta. He was the featured violinist for India.Arie's 2006 release "Testimony: Vol. 1, Life & Relationship". In 2008, he was the featured violinist on "Words," a duet by Anthony David & India.Arie. The song had major play on BET. Erik has also recorded for: Troy Cono, Tamar Davis, John Wesley Harding, Tyler Herrin, Stephanie Staples, & Christopher Alan Yates.

Around Town

Erik has been a regular performer in many restaurants and bars around the Atlanta area. His most common gigs are around town with Tyler Herrin. Erik also sits in with Francisco Vidal from time to time. In the last 10 years, Erik has had the chance to share the stage with the recording artists Zac Brown and Aaron Schust and also played violin with Collective Soul during a wedding.
